The seven members of the Boise School District Board of Trustees maintain legal control of the Boise School District and are elected to staggered six-year terms by District residents.  Elections are held every two years on the first Tuesday in September with Trustees being elected at large. The Trustee Election of the Boise School Board will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. 

  1. This Election will consist of four separate Trustee races. Qualified voters may vote in any or all races.
    • In Race #1, there are two open seats. Voters may vote for up to two candidates.
    • In Races #2, #3, and #4 there is one open seat in each race and voters may vote for one person in each race.

  2. To be eligible to run for election, a Board candidate must be at least 18 years of age, a resident and registered voter of the Boise School District, and have no pecuniary interest, either directly or indirectly, in any contract with the District.
  3. The Declaration of Candidacy form will be available on Monday, June 13, 2022. Completed Declaration of Candidacy forms may be submitted to the Clerk of the Boise School Board starting Monday, June 27, 2022 and ending no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022.
  4. Candidates will be invited to meet at the Boise School District Services Center (8169 W. Victory Road, Boise, ID ) on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. to participate in the drawing of names for placement of names of candidates on the official election ballot.
  5. All candidate names, addresses, occupations and any other information submitted on the Declaration of Candidacy will be made available to the news media following the July 8th filing deadline.  Information may be released earlier if requested by a media representative.
  6. Absentee Ballot request forms will be available starting Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Boise School District Services Center or on the District website www.boiseschools.org. Completed Absentee Ballot request forms must be received by the District by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022. We will begin mailing Absentee Ballots to voters for the September 6th, 2022 Election on Monday, August 1st, 2022. All absentee Ballots must be returned to the District Services Center by Election Day, September 6th, 2022 at 8:00 pm
  7. Patrons may also vote early at the District Services Center beginning Monday, August 22, 2022, or on Election day at any of the Polling Locations listed in the link below.
  8. Individuals elected will then be sworn into office during the regular Board meeting on September 12th, 2022.
