Behind the Scenes – Birds with Brandon

Join the Idaho Museum of Natural History and Dr. Brandon Peecook for a behind the scenes look at our bird collections. We’ll be examining our modern bird specimens in the Ornithology collection, skeletons in the Comparative Osteology collections, and get a chance to check out cool fossil birds from the Paleontology collection.

Dr. Peecook is the Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology and a professor in Biological Sciences. His research focuses on the early evolution of dinosaurs and mammals (around 250 million years ago) from rocks around the world, and on mass extinction events. Before coming to the IMNH, he went to college at the University of Michigan, got his PhD at the University of Washington in Seattle, and worked for years at the Field Museum in Chicago.
