Idaho State University announced on Apr. 21 the addition of two transfer players, MaCarhy Morris and Ike Palmer, to its men’s basketball team ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The announcement comes as the Bengals undergo a significant roster overhaul, with only a small percentage of last year’s scoring, rebounding, and assists returning. The program is relying on experienced transfers to rebuild its lineup following the departure of most players from the previous season.
MaCarhy Morris joins Idaho State after starting all 30 games during his junior year at Concordia Irvine. He averaged 16.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game while shooting over 47 percent from the field and earning All-PacWest First Team honors. Prior to Concordia Irvine, Morris played at Lewis-Clark State College where he was named First Team All-Cascade Conference during the 2024-25 season. At Lakewood High School in California, he was a two-time First Team All-Moore League selection.
“MaCarhy is a dynamic scoring guard,” Head Coach Ryan Looney said. “He is a tough shot maker and has a lot of college experience. Our fans are going to love watching him play.”
Ike Palmer arrives after an impressive sophomore year at Utah State University – Eastern where he started all games and averaged 17 points per contest with strong contributions in rebounds and assists as well as defensive steals. Palmer previously played for Herriman High School in Utah where he earned multiple All-Region selections and set school records for points scored.
“Ike is a rugged forward,” Looney said. “He can play inside and out. Ike had a great season this past year at USU-Eastern. He is a tough kid and will bring us great versatility.”
With these additions, Idaho State’s roster now includes thirteen players as it prepares for next season.
