The Idaho State men’s tennis team defeated Weber State 5–2 on April 18 at Reed Gym, marking a successful Senior Day for the Bengals. With this win, Idaho State improved its overall record to 10–9 and moved to 4–3 in Big Sky Conference play.

The match held special significance as it was the final home appearance for seniors Valentino De Pellegrin, Tyler Dalos, and Quentin Lamothe. Before play began, the team honored these three athletes for their contributions to the program.

“It was great to win on senior day for our three seniors Tyler, Quentin and Valentino,” said head coach Oliver Good. “We appreciate everything they have given to our program and for all being the team first players that they are. We’re looking forward to getting ready to giving it our all in Phoenix next week.”

Idaho State started strong by winning doubles matches on courts two and three, securing the opening point of the dual. In singles play, Bengals players claimed victories in four out of six matches. Luka Vujacic won his match at No. 3 singles (6–3, 6–3), Rafael Maya took No. 4 singles (6–2, 6–1), Quentin Lamothe secured No. 5 singles (6–2, 6–3), and Tyler Dalos earned a win at No. 6 singles (6–1, 6–3). The doubles pairings of Lamothe/Sep de Visser and Sam Wensley/Lewie Bouman also posted convincing wins.

With postseason competition approaching next week in Phoenix, Arizona at the Big Sky Championships, Idaho State aims to carry forward its momentum from Senior Day into tournament play.
