Idaho State softball earned a decisive 13-2 win against Utah State on March 10, improving its season record to 16-10. The game, played at LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Softball Field in Logan, saw the Bengals score 11 runs across the third and fourth innings to secure a run-rule victory.

The result extends Idaho State’s winning streak to six games, marking their longest stretch of consecutive wins this season. The Bengals’ offense was held scoreless through two innings before breaking out in the third with five runs. Key contributions included Chloe McGreevey’s double to start the rally and Alyssa Yee’s single that brought in the first run. Jenna Kearns added a two-RBI double, while Kennedy Dudley and Camryn McDonald also drove in runs during the inning.

In the fourth inning, Idaho State sent ten batters to the plate and scored six more runs. Belle Navarrete led off with a double, and Dudley delivered a three-run double later in the frame. The Bengals continued their offensive surge in the fifth when Sydney Groves hit a two-run home run—her fourth of the season—extending their lead further.

Pitcher Riley Wickum went the distance for Idaho State, allowing two runs on eight hits with two strikeouts over five innings. She kept Utah State scoreless until the final inning and improved her personal record to 2-2 for the year.

Dudley led all hitters with four RBI on two hits, including her key double in the fourth. Kearns contributed three RBI from both a double and an RBI walk. Yee reached base three times, scored three runs, stole a base, and drove in one run. The Bengals drew eight walks as a team and capitalized on Utah State’s pitching struggles throughout the game.

Looking ahead, Idaho State will travel to face San Diego Toreros for a three-game series beginning Friday, March 13.
