Idaho State women’s golf achieved a program milestone on Apr. 20 by posting a team score of 290 in the first round of the 2026 Big Sky Conference Championship at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Arizona. The Bengals finished the day in fifth place, six shots behind leader Northern Arizona after completing 18 holes.

The significance of this performance lies in it being the best single-round score ever recorded by Idaho State women’s golf. This achievement highlights progress for the team and individual players as they compete against conference rivals.

Andrea Chin led Idaho State with a standout round, shooting a 2-under-par 69 that tied for the second-lowest individual round in program history. Chin’s performance placed her in a four-way tie for fourth individually, just two strokes behind Sacramento State’s Sophia Lee, who leads at four under par. Chin started strong with birdies on holes one and six and excelled on the back nine with birdies on holes eleven, fifteen, seventeen, and eighteen to finish with an inward half of 32—the lowest nine-hole score posted by any Bengal during the day.

Izzy Hassebrock also made an impact by opening her round with an eagle on the first hole—a par five measuring 511 yards—and followed up with a birdie on hole two to reach three under after two holes. Despite encountering bogeys mid-round, Hassebrock stabilized her play and closed out even-par (71), tying for tenth place individually.

Other contributors included Kaylie Parola (73), who is tied for eighteenth after making four birdies but offsetting them with front-nine bogeys; Lauren Aasand (77), who finished tied for thirty-sixth; and Avery Bayer (84), who will look to improve following difficulties including one triple bogey and three doubles.

Looking ahead to subsequent rounds, Idaho State aims to build upon its historic start as it seeks to climb further up the leaderboard.
