Bengals Close Out Regular Season Thursday vs. SUU

Closeout

 Idaho State University Athletics issued the following announcement on March 2.

Idaho State closes out regular season play on Thursday, March at 7 p.m. vs. SUU. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN + and KISU.  Thursday is the final home game for seniors Tarik Cool and Malik Porter. They will be honored prior to the start of the game.

The month of February has seen great improvement for the Bengals. In the nine games ISU had four players scoring in double figures led by Tarik Cool's 13.9 points. Liam Sorensen is scoring 11.6 points, Jared Rodriguez 11.8 and Malik Porter 11.1 points. The Bengals are scoring 70.7 point, shooting .457 percent from the field and .739 percent from the free throw line. The Bengals are out rebounding opponents 34-29 .1in the month. Idaho State's four win in Februaray was more than they had in Novemeber, December and January combined. During February, Jared Rodriguez shot 44 percent from the three-point line, 47.5 percent from the field and averaged 5.4 rebounds.

SUU has won the last five meetings against ISU. The Bengals last win was an 88-68 win on Jan. 3, 2019.

SUU is 18-9 and 12-5 in Big Sky Conference play. SUU averages 79.7 points and gives up 73 a game. They shoot .463 percent from the field, .347 percent from the three-point line and .712 percent from the free throw line. Tevian Jones leads the T-Birds in scoring at 15.2 points and John Knight III scores 14.3 points a game. Maizen Fausett scores 12.8 points.
