University of Idaho’s Lionel Hampton School of Music (LHSOM) will host its first ever fundraising gala 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 16 at The Barn at Mader Farm in Genesee.
The evening will feature a variety of student and guest performances — from jazz and vocal ensembles to winds and strings — as well as a dinner by Malō Caters and a silent auction.
All proceeds benefit the LHSOM Student Scholarship Fund and the LHSOM Excellence Fund. The Excellence Fund helps provide a high-quality music education to students through special musical guests, performances, professional collaborations, and conferences.
The gala will take place at The Barn at Mader Farm, built in Genesee over 100 years ago. The location initially housed farm animals and feed during winters, but the facility has since become a venue for charitable events.
“We are thrilled to host our first-ever LHSOM fundraising gala, showcasing our talented students,” said Vanessa Sielert, director of LHSOM. “Dan and Cindi Mader have graciously invited us to have this event at their beautiful venue, the Mader Barn. The program will include a variety of performances and guest speakers.”
Registration is open for tables of eight people, which come with two complimentary bottles of wine. Individual tickets go on sale August 1. More information and registration can be found online at uidaho.edu/class/music/events/gala.
