The New Beginnings group is for students seeking to change their relationship with alcohol or other drugs through a combination of education, community, skills development and group processing. There is no expectation for sustained abstinence; however, the skills and topics are also valuable resources for those seeking continuous sobriety.
Topics include:
- Understanding your relationship with use
- Dealing with urges and cravings
- Managing social pressure
- Healthy relationships
- Your values and you
- Effective thinking and problem-solving
- Stress management
